Here at Jamieson Contracting (Mcr) ltd, we take the Health & Safety of all our employees very seriously. All new entrants to the company attend an induction programme covering the regulations governing both Jamieson Contracting as the employer and themselves as individual employees.
It is the policy of Jamieson Contracting (Mcr) ltd to comply with the terms of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and subsequent legislation and to provide and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
The health and safety objective of Jamieson Contracting (Mcr) ltd is: -
- To minimise the number of instances of occupational accidents and illnesses and ultimately to achieve an accident free workplace.
We provide all employees with equipment, information, training and supervision as is necessary to implement the policy and achieve the stated objective.
Jamieson Contracting (Mcr) ltd do all that is within its powers to ensure the health and safety of its employees. However, it is recognised that Health and Safety at work is the responsibility of each and every individual associated with the Company. It is the duty of each employee to take reasonable care of their own and other people’s welfare and to report any situation which may pose a threat to the well being of any other person. With this in mind, our inductions cover topics such as: -
- How we aim to provide and maintain a safe place of work, safe systems of work, safe equipment and a healthy and safe working environment.
- How we ensure that hazards are identified and regular assessments of risks are undertaken.
- How Jamieson’s provide information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure both our employees and our contractors are assured of a safe and healthy working environment.
- How we continually promote the awareness of health and safety and encourage health and safety best practice throughout our organisation.
- How we always ensure we are taking the appropriate protective and preventative measures.
- We ensure that we have access to competent advice and are able to secure compliance with our statutory duties.
In order to maintain our good clean record on Health & Safety matters, we continually look to improve our own procedures and encourage our employees to share ideas or concerns freely.
